When I think of Legazpi City in Albay, I picture the majestic Mayon Volcano, Cagsawa Ruins, Daraga Church and maybe Bicol Express. I’ve been to Legazpi City so many times but it never fails to amaze me that there are something new to do and try whenever I’m in the city.
Last week, I was fortunate enough to get invited to visit a WATERSPORTS CENTER which is by the boulevard. It was a Thursday and the bay was silent, only private cars pass by and some locals. While my friend Bernard Supertran started to don his rashguard I checked out some of the available stuff at Your Brother Travel and Tours. I picked up the skateboard and rode it on the boulevard. Nice and breezy.
I wasn’t prepared for any water activities since I just came form the airport. When Sir Bernard started to ramp the jetski, I can’t believe that I’m just inside the waiting area watching Eat Bulaga. So I found a way to play in my element. I asked the staff if I can borrow a boardshorts and it was like meant to be- a boardies was hanging on the line and they said I can use it.
I wore it and got the wakeboard and put on the lifevest. I went beside the bay and waited for them to finish jet-skiing. When its my time to shine I got into the water and took hold of the line. I did wakeboarding on the sea months ago at Misibis Bay but this time it was hard for me to pop up. I kept on planting my face to the water- not once, not twice but thrice. For someone who surfs and occasionally wakeboards its really frustrating. John who was the jetski driver told me to watch him so I gave him the wakeboard while I drive the jetski at 15kph. It gave me a different thrill. After a round I took the wakeboard again and told myself to calm down and relax.
I breathe normally and thought of happy thoughts. When John revved up the jetski I found myself in jubilation as I was riding the wake. Wooohooo! It was the best wakeboarding sesh I ever had in my life. I was riding for more than 10minutes stoked to see the majestic Mayon at Legazpi City.
A cold beer is in order right?
