Rainy season should not stop you from doing outdoor activities right? Traveling is not limited to summer and if you are not that type of someone who would sing and dance under the rain then this Spyder Vapor Jacket is perfect for you and for this season of precipitation.

Vapor jacket

Spyder Vapor Jacket, Medium

Here are the important details and a short review of the product:

Color: Translucent white

Material: Cooltex fabric, 100% Nylon

Available Sizes: Medium and Large (Unisex)

Features: Collar pocket so you can store your hood if not in use. Power gel/mobile phone/trail food storage at the back. Spyder logo is reflectorized for added visibility especially at dark. Hydrophobic material inside to keep water away and nylon cooltex fabric allows moisture to evaporate from skin.

Likes:

Light and Packable. Its ultra-light and when I include it on my backpack it occupies almost no space at all. Imagine a jacket that can fit on the side-pocket of your 6-pocket shorts. I tried placing it on my bike’s tool kit and its fit. to show you how packable it is, I tried to place it inside the microwavable plastic container.

Plus points! You can’t bring an umbrella in your hand-carried bag so this is a good option if you don’t want to get wet on the road.

See it can actually fit inside the tool bag

And I also like the idea of its back pocket becoming a storage pocket itself like this:

Vapor Jacket in the pocket. And yes, that's what I'm reading right now. Genius Tolkien!

Versatile. I been using it to almost all outdoor activity I love doing- mountaineering, mountain biking, running and even having a stroll when traveling. Once I use it to combat a very cold weather in Davao Oriental and it was helpful. So you can use while under the heat of the sun or when it pours- yes during crazy weathers (kapag may kinakasal na tikbalang).

Cool. Yep its cool to wear compared to the usual raincoat (its so baduy). The optional hoodie makes a big difference. Because of the material “cooltex/nylon”, its not also hot inside, the air can circulate inside easily, just leave a small portion of the zipper open.

It’s tailor-fit. Fits my body perfectly and the rubber lining below the jacket and on the sleeves keep you from getting wet when rain starts to pour.

Stretchable. No worries if you would gain some pounds because you were to busy to run or bike as this jacket is stretchable. Just don’t try to balloon from Medium to XL.

All-weather gear. Since its just light and easy to pack I bring it weather its scorching hot or raining. This proved to be useful especially this time of global warming and girl weather- its sunny and suddenly it will rain.

I tell you a short story: I used it during our Lake Holon trek in South Cotabato. The weather in South Cotabato is crazy like girls- its sunny then suddenly it will rain (the girl weather comment is of course a bad joke but you get the idea) and we are on a habal-habal (motorbike) passing through dangerous curves and dirt road. All of a sudden it poured so I asked the driver to stop for a while so I can wear the Vapor Jacket- it kept me dry after an hour of rain yes-rain no. And then when we are already at the Lake it was freezing cold. I didn’t take it off and used it on that night of lake camping. It helped me go through that night.

Can't afford to take it off because of the chilly morning at Lake Holon

Hopes:

I hope they make other color jackets like dark blue or pink. I like to have a pink one, *kidding.* But seriously, I believe girls would order two of these when they start to manufacture kikay pink ones.

I hope they make a pants/shorts made of the same material for trekkers and campers. It would be great for this water-proof jacket to have a partner.

I have been using this Vapor Jacket for more than 4 months now and I’m loving it.

Biking under the rain

Getting my adrenaline fix even while its raining

Price? Php1,490

Where to Buy? Spyder Philippines Kiosk are everywhere in the malls.

The Spyder Vapor Jacket I have is from Spyder Philippines. This goes along with Spyder Air Elite shades and the waterproof timepiece Arrest from Spyder too.

Is it possible to buy this jacket outside the Philipines? Do you know about any internet dealers which send it to Europe? It seems to be a very good jacket!
