Photo Duel: Manila and Mindanao Kilometer 0s

Km.0 or Kilometer 0 is a distance reference to all other places in the Philippines.

Most Filipinos know this is seen at Luneta Park, particularly in front of Rizal Monument. But only a few know that there is also a Mindanao KM.0 which can be seen at the Islamic City of Marawi in Lanao del Sur.

Manila, KM.0

Rizal Monument, Luneta Park (in front of KM.0)

This is the reference point of all the places in the Philippines. The next time you travel, look out for the yellow road markers along the way.

Mindanao, KM.0

This is the original reference point of all roads in Mindanao.

Marawi City KM 0.000

It is a Saturday and if you don’t have anything to do, why not review the past PHOTO DUELS.

Trivia 1: When I do my out-of-town long runs before, I make use of these yellow markers on the road to measure the distance I ran.

Trivia 2: The original KM.0 is not in Luneta but in Intramuros. Learn more about it on the article: 10 New Learnings in Intramuros
