JourneyingJames as a Luxury Traveler in Naga City?

This will wound up the  Four Hats Series- I became a rice farmer, a big brother, a copra farmer and now, the thing that is least expected of me- A LUXURY TRAVELER. Trying a posh hotel, sleep on a double bed, AC on, LCD TV and a hot shower bath, a taste of how rich people enjoy their vacation even just for a night.

I just came from a 14-hour trip (from Mongpong island in Marinduque to Catanauan, Quezon to Gumaca then finally to Naga City), I haven’t had a decent bath for almost 2 days and I was smelly and dirty. My fingernails are filled with dirt and my pants are somehow hard because of dried sweat, in other words #KADIRI. I think the hotel staff was having second thoughts if I really do have a reservation in their hotel.

first thing i did when i entered my room

I gave my name and the front desk staff gave me an electronic key, followed by a welcome drink. Feels weird to be stepping on this tiled floors with my dirty slippers. Somehow I felt uneasy, out of place, but these thoughts were taken aside because all I wanna do is get a hot shower and snooze!

Wanna see the video during and after the shower?

Anyway, I just want to thank Avenue Plaza Hotel for providing me an awesome room for a night. I so enjoyed the room, the shower and the softness of the sheets. Not to mention the crispy friend daing served during breakfast. It is a must-try when you are in Naga City. Special thanks to Alison, their marketing officer for this opportunity.

missing the crispy daing they served here for breakfast

Contrary to what many believe, I welcome hotel invitations. I guess I want to experience more of this on my coming travels but this doesn’t mean that I will be leaving the backpacker lifestyle. I’m always on the lookout for adventure and I believe that adventures happen when you stay close with the locals.
