Thanks for the tips! Seems Boracay is overrun with high end resorts these days, had no idea there were places that are this cheap in the island! Will check out some of these the next time I visit Boracay.

Hey james, great blog! Got here from the solesisters site.

Orchids Resort in Boracay is also pretty cheap, around 800 last time I was there, fan room with a queen and a hot shower too. Instant coffee + hot water was also available round the clock, which was great for someone like me who’d wake up in the wee hours to watch the sunrise.

Hi james! this is really nice. Think, my Boracay will be cheaply great like yours. By the way, I’ve booked a flight to Iloilo in the am of Dec. 8, 2012, I planned to tour a bit of the city proper and visit churches and head to Caticlan in approx. 3pm (or earlier as much as possible as I don’t think I’ll be able to have a grasp of Iloilo at day time), as I read other travel blogs, I believe it will take me 5-6hrs to get to Caticlan so most likely than not I’ll arrive at 9pm, will there still be a boat ride available for me (we’re a group of 3 actually)? can this be possible? boat ride at night? ever have an idea for their last trip? i tend to start our trip this way so as to allot the very little time we have for Boracay as our flight back home is in the am of December 10,2012.. it’s really tight schedule we have there and I’m really trying to squeeze and maximize it out. we all are 1st timers. anything to say? comment or suggest?

Haven’t been to Boracay, pero me and my sister are planning to go travel. Salamat sa post mo!

U got it dear. The reason why is they (owners and operators) don’t make advertisements on cheap alternatives. Only blogs and threads like this do it. Boracay has been associated to Expensive Travels for a long time. And worse is, the tourism dept doesnt know that Boracay has been exploited by few capitalists making profit with their “controlled” rates to lure Foreign tourists esp. So we need to break this bad habit!

Dear readers, in case you see LA OVIEDO BORACAY advertisement. It was a hell and horrible hotel to stay.Akala ko 5 minutes walk lang papuntang beachfront as per their ads..Putik dapat pala malaki ang hakbang mo.Another thing.masyadong liblib at pag uuwi ka ng mga 2am, ang dilim ng kalsada nila.Much worst, na chambahan kami ng brownout during our stay.Bale 8 hours lang naman kaming naghintay para mag kakuryente uli..Too bad wala silang GENERATOR…worst experience ever.Thumbs down to the HOTEL but THUMBS UP sa mga STAFF..

Might as well include the cheapest route going to the place. I found out airfares are quite expensive! It’s much cheaper going to phuket from manila by plane on a roundtrip! The govt must make more infra projects to make boracay more accessible. There are 2go travels from batangas but too long to deal and kills the excitement. Or maybe we need a lifetime to experience that breeze going to boracay. But good job james!

Great Post Buddy! Really helpful. My friends and I really look for a cozy and relaxing place to stay yet affordable and we found The Orient Beach Boracay, it was peaceful that we really had a great time of staying 🙂 it was affordable with complete amenities like a 5Star Hotel, it was Newly Opened Hotel, everything was new. We are also fascinated by their small electronic machine outside their room where you can manage if you don’t want to be disturb. Amazing! It was 5 mins ride to D’mall, and from the world famous white Beach, its not hassle anyway because they have a free shuttle Service going to D’mall. You can find great deals in many sites. Plus they serve really great Breakfast and oh, complimentary coffee was available at your room. And the amazing sunset view from the veranda was really breath taking! Awesome! Staffs are really accommodating and very friendly 🙂 We really had a great stay! Cant wait for our next visit in Boracay 🙂

It was also a Newly Opened Hotel, you can find great deals in many sites.
