So far Pangasinan didn’t frustrate me- I was Awed at the Calasiao Church, Burped at the sumptuous puto and bangus, Captivated by Lingayen Capitol Complex and
Delighted by the warm and friendly service of President’s Hotel.
The Province of Pangasinan is rightly called the “Number 1 tourist destination in Region 1.” And I would dare say that the town of Lingayen would be second on the list of must-see places when in Pangasinan, the Hundred Islands National Park being on top of the list.
Let me explain that as I share the 5 Places you shouldn’t miss while in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
1. Ramos House at President’s Hotel.
The 12th President of the Philippines, Fidel V. Ramos was born and raised in this place. It feels good to somehow know and visit the very place where my fave President lived. To make the experience better, I was able to stay at the President’s Hotel where each suite is named after a Philippine President. You know where I stayed? Marcos Suite- my second fave president. hahaha

The staff and the manager, Dr. Marco Duque was so friendly, they gave us a our own “butler” who served us sumptuous dinner. Thank you so much Dr. Duque and the rest of the staff.

2. Provincial Capitol.
By day or by night, this elegant edifice would make you get your DSLR/Phone camera and take a snapshot. The white and yellow colored structure was elegant, add the fine sculptures in front and the stately stair and rooms inside was enough to captivate every visitors. 3. Aguedo Agbayani Park.
I love this park. During the night, you can hear music from the speakers scattered around the park. The nice lawn is a favorite hang-out place for kids and adults alike. The lovely benches create a homely feel that makes the visitor sit down for a while and relax. The trees that line the park leading to the Capitol assures each passer-by of fresh air. Just lovely! I wish more LGU would develop nature parks, way much better than issuing mall building permits.

4. Cultural Memorial Park.
For history buffs like me, the helicopters and tanks display at the back of the Capitol Building speak of a rich forgotten past. The Veteran’s Memorial Park shows some of the photos during the WWII. Look back on the heroism that our older folks showed during the Second World War.

5. Lingayen Beach.
No it’s not white beach but the powdery sand is finer than that of Boracay, plus its clean. Adults would enjoy bringing their kids here, pre-schoolers would love building sand castles. Runners would enjoy running on the long shore. I did a quick 8K run and some yoga when I was there and it was altogether refreshing. You can read more of this on my Historic Lingayen Beach post.

I love Lingayen, but I learned to love it more after our trip! Naaliw ako sa Pinakbet ng President Hotel and the cool breeze within the park and the capitol at night added some drama to our trip. Sarap din sanang gumulong-gulong sa sand LOL

Wow, I just been to Pangasinan last July but not yet Lingayen… this is a good eye-opener for Lingayen tourism.

Wow, Lingayen!!! I use to visit provinces in the North. When I saw some information from this source http://aboutfilipino.com/ilocos-tourist-attractions/tourist-spots-in-pangasinan about Pangasinan, I tried to be a traveler. I was accompanied by my GF, and our Pangasinan experience is just awesome! there’s so many natural and cultural wonders… hope to visit this province again… 🙂

Yeah lingayen bay is quite amazing.. the waves and the sunset scenery would forget you the polluted city where u came.
I love this place. Although we’re not staying here anymore we find time to visit the place. Full of memories, happiest times and bad times, of hard experiences yet I look for the best times and treasure it..Mabuhay Lingayen!!
