Tucked in one of the coves of San Joaquin, Iloilo is a resort called LSDC (Lhetz Snorkel and Dive Camp).
If you are looking for a post-card perfect scenery then you are in the wrong place. But if you are into a peaceful getaway then this resort is for you.

LSDC Resort is a sea front resort which is near a marine sanctuary. Snorkelers say that they’ve seen sea turtles, clown fish, marlins, etc off the coast.
Lonely Planet Philippines says this about LSDC,
“There is a dive site just offshore, but diving arrangements on-site are a bit casual; if you don’t your own gear, the resort needs notice of a day or so to bring equipment in from Iloilo.”
There’s a typhoon in Manila and northern Luzon when I was there so weather is stormy- rains come and go. But this place has become my fortress on the 2nd day of my Visayas Trails before I headed to Antique.

The string hammocks are a welcome sight and their cottages are so artsy. The breeze continually dab my face. My stay here was so pleasant and relaxing. I had a nice quiet sleep in my big room. I really wish I stayed for another night but I need to keep going.

I must not forget the home cooking of Inday Andrea, the care-taker of the resort. I ate too much of fresh grilled fish and laswa. Laswa is a native Ilonggo dish which literally means “vegetable.” Okra, squash, eggplant, malunggay leaves are boiled then topped with grilled fish more like the “Bulanglang” of the Ilocanos.

How to get to LSDC:
San Joaquin is the last town in the southern part of Iloilo.
1. Take the San Joaquin bound jeepney from Super terminal, Iloilo City. ask if the jeepney is going to Cataan or Lawigan. Ask the driver/conductor to bring you to LSDC. LSDC is on the left side of the road, very easy to find.
2. From Miag-Ao, you can ride the jeepney going to San Joaquin, find a jeepney that will go to Cataan or Lawigan then follow number 1.
3. You can also take buses going to Anini-y or Dao antique. Ask if the bus will go thru the coastal road.
4. From San Joaquin Public Market, tricycles going to LSDC can be found at the terminal of San Joaquin. Fare is Php25.
