Shhhhhh……..
I’m telling you a secret…
Northern Samar put a spell on me!
I can’t believe that this “undiscovered” province would offer the most unique adventures ever. This exploration happened last February 2011 and I still can’t forget the details of the trip. I’ve been wanting to share this to you guys and finally I can now write about my discoveries of this one stunning province.
Northern Samar would easily be on my Top 10 provinces to visit. It has the unspoiled white beaches, lush mountains, enormous caves, unnoticed waterfalls, stunning rock formations, surf breaks, amazing people, gastronomic food and rich heritage. It’s off-the-beaten and I love it! Out-of-the-usual-tourist-trail which makes it exciting for backpackers like me- a new exploration is about to be made known!
“Northern Samar would easily be on my Top 10 provinces to visit.”
So if you are into a new and exciting adventure, do follow the series that would tackle the following:
Spectacular Biri Rock Formations
The Forgotten Capul Island
Abaknon Dialect: On the Brink of Extinction
Side Note: Top-Loading from Allen to Calbayog City
Catubig: A Forgotten Heritage
Hammock-Hanging Adventures at UEP White Beach
Summary and Expenses
I hope that these posts would be a guide to intrepid travelers out there. Share it to others if you must and don’t forget to ask questions for clarifications.
Notes:
This is one of those no-plans-whatsoever trips I made. I have a ticket to Catarman and I just said to myself, go and let’s see what’s in it for me… As always, I visited the Tourism office at the Capitol (thanks to Ms. Goldie Miranda for the guidance and the map).
This post is better read with a Northern Samar map on hand.
For now, let me just whet your appetite…

I’m so excited with this series of yours… I’ve bought ticket to Catarman with CebuPac’s seat sale last December and I’m dying to see the Biri rock formations… I’m going there on the 16th… You’ll be my reference again for the must see sites… thanks in advance James! 🙂

Wow may ganito pala sa Samar. Mapuntahan nga. Nice photos! Ayos din ang watermark, medyo lumaki lang dun sa iba. 😉

Bad trip naman yan. Ako di pa sinisipag maglagay ng watermark sa pictures. Di pa naman kasi ganun kaganda mga kuha ko para nakawin. Ma-flatter pa ako pag may mag-effort mangnenok. Hehe

Thank you, Sir James. I am with you on this. Northern Samar’s prolly one of the underrated provinces in the Philippines. There’s more to see in our province especially in the Pacific towns of Mapanas, Palapag, Gamay, and Lapinig. 🙂
