Mt. Batulao Quickie

I don’t have any plans of blogging about this Mt. Batulao dayhike since its just an easy trek. But because I  love the sceneries I saw while trekking the mountain, I guess its worth a quick mention on my blog.

Same with the pass Quickies, here are the 3 stills I want to share with you guys:

Mt. Batulao Burnt

The usual comments I read on my Facebook and Instagram when I posted a photo of Batulao are “sunog,” “sinunog” and the likes. I’m saddened too but I guess instead of reacting, mountaineers and mountain-lovers should be pro-active. I want to see comments like “Let’s plant some trees” or “Let’s educate the community there.”

Mt Batulao Mountaineers

I love this shot as it highlights the jagged edges of Mt. Batulao (makes me compare the Knife Egde of G2). Also noticeable the smallness of the the two mountaineers on the trail compared to the mountain. Mountains give us the proper perspective of how small we are in this planet.

Mt. Batulao Summit

Of course, the summit. And I guess it would be fitting to quote Wilfrid Noyce here, “If adventure has a final and all-embracing motive, it is surely this: we go out because it is our nature to go out, to climb mountains, and to paddle rivers, to fly to the planets and plunge into the depths of the oceans… When man ceases to do these things, he is no longer man.”

Are you no longer man?

Thanks to Bosing Gideon of Pinoy Mountaineer for tagging me along this dayhike to Batulao. Until the next hike sir!

Quickie Section is my shortest blog feature where I just post 3 photos with a short caption or a snippet. Made especially for those who don’t want to read.
