I always hear that El Nido among others is expensive for local tourists. Well compared to most tourists spots its quite expensive (just like Boracay) but then the backpacker in me managed to enjoy El Nido even with limited budget. I think I spent around Php 500-700/day (not including the island hopping tour)
I want to share with you the general expenses or what your money can buy in El Nido.
For foreigners, this conversion table would be of great help:
So here’s the prices and rates in El Nido (as of February 2012)
500ml water bottle – Php 20-25
Mango shake – Php 50-100
Carinderia Meal – Php 50
Restaurant Meal – Php 150 up
American Breakfast – Php 150
Banana – Php 10
Coke – Php 15 (8oz.)
Crepes – Php 70 up
Beer – Php 35-50
Cigarette – Php 4/stick
Weed- n/a 😉
Extra Rice – Php 10
Chaolong Noodles – Php 70
Transportation and Rentals:
Tricycle Fare – Php 10 (within town proper), Php 150 (to Las Cabanas, one-way, good for 3pax)
Mountain Bike Rental – Php 400 (8am-6pm)
Motorbike Rental (Honda XRM) – Php 600-700 (8am-6pm)
Kayak Rental (double) – Php500 (whole day)
Boat to Coron – Php 1500 (local), Php 1800 (foreigner) (8-9 hours of travel). Leaves everyday at 8am from El Nido pier except on Saturdays.

Backpackers – Php 500 (dorm-type, common CR)
Non-AC – Php 700 up (good for 2pax)
AC – Php 1500 up (good for 2pax)
Island Hopping Tour A – Php 1,200
Island Hopping Tour B – Php 1,300
Island Hopping Tour C – Php 1,400
Eco-Tourism Developmental Fee (ETDF) – Php200 (valid for 20 days). What is heck is ETDF?
Taraw Cliff Climbing – Php 500

1 hour – Php 500
I asked my friend Ferdz of Ironwulf.net and he told me that he was able to get a room for Php 3,500/month. Room rentals ranges from Php3,500-Php5,000/month (good for 2pax).
