What’s In Store for JourneyingJames this 2013?

Someone said that year

“2012 is your [journeyingjames’] year! And I [she] think this is just the beginning!”

You can read other comments on this blog post 12 Life-Changing Moments this 2012 if you are interested.

Now the question is after all those crazy adventures ‘What’s in store for journeyingjames this new year?’

I have lots of things to accomplish at the beginning of the year but I want to focus on the following:

1. Surf more.

I actually want to join a competition, just for fun and cross-out another from my bucketlist. Maybe a longboard competition at the latter end of the year. That means I need to practice more and get baked under the sun. It’s okay though, I always love my skin sun-drenched. Does this means I also need to develop a six-pack abs?

2. Dive.

Diving has always been elusive for me because of the cost it would incur. But then again, experience cannot be bought? So, I’ll dive into this and hopefully get my license before the mid-year. Also, Tubbataha Reefs National Park is the only one left on my Philippine UNESCO-Heritage Site list. Also, I want to dive with some whales and sharks….. yieeeeeh!

3. Hike more.

I’m torn between climbing the 7 highest points in the country or peaking 7 of the most hard to reach mountains. This is still on the cupboard but I want to rekindle my love for the mountains. You see, I started peaking Mt. Makiling when I was still in highschool. I want to explore more mountains and meet more mountaineers, See yah at the peak, sir/ma’am!

4. Rest.

2012 was a roller coaster of airplane flights, bus rides and habal-habal adventures, this year I want to spend more time resting and reflecting about my journeys. That means slower travel and being a homebuddy. Is this possible?

5. Write more.

A lot has been checking on the status of my 100 Days Journey Book, I stopped writing last October and has been on hiatus until now. This year I told myself to finish the book that I started. Talking about writing more, expect also that I will be updating the blog more often, so expect reading read 4-5 new articles per week . That said, I also need more than ever your unwavering support on reading the blog. If you have read every single blog post, then try sharing it to your 4,999 friends on Facebook. 🙂

6. Collaborate.

I love hearing this word and you will observe that I will be using this word again and again throughout this year0 COLLABORA+E. I want to connect to other travel bloggers and companies that are willing to share my dream. I want to help newbie travel bloggers and travelers to discover the joy in traveling and blogging. Do send me a message on Facebook and let’s talk on how I can better be of help to you. I want to share my humble beginnings with you 🙂

7. Invest more.

As I’m not getting younger and is now planning of more ways to fund my never-ending wanderlust, I think I would focus more on investing be it on stocks exchange or properties. Did you know that part of my income are from the stocks I own? Actually, traveling is one way of investing too (I guess I should write more on this topic). Also, I want to really start my dream business of putting up a coffee shop. I hope this can be realized soon.

OOhhhh, and yes, I also started Organizing Tours for friends and blog readers. Check out my FB Notes often for budget-friendly tours.

I still have lots of things to do but I want to take it slow and take it one step at a time. If you want to read more of my plans, you can always review my past notes:

yay for wanting to start a business. What is your draw towards a ‘brick and mortar’ tho, as they say? Whereas something more online that can be more versatile for travel? i know nothing about stocks but seem to be interested in buying property for some reason. then again, i have a dream to build my own eco treehouse resort. so there’s my brick and mortar too. 😀
