I’m sure you always here the word STOKED. If you haven’t yet, you read that word for the first time from me. 🙂
SKIMBOARDING
It was 2008 when I first learned about skimboarding. I was living in Palawn and wanted to experience surfing. Because there are no big waves in Puerto Princesa, I contented myself with skimboarding.
Skimboarding is usually done on the shoreline (unless you are a pro, you do it on the reef break and paddle-drop). Its when you run with a skimboard and drop it to the subsiding waves and try to ride the board.
SURFING
Come 2012, I finally told myself to focus on surfing. Surfing is more of a lifestyle than of a sports. If you want t learn it, you have to live it.
Surfing is done off the shore where one rides the forward face of the wave. Mostly done on beach breaks, reef breaks and river mouths where a wave is formed. For beginners, a longboard is advised.
I’m just a newbie in these two water sports and I want to continually practice my skills in both but I’m in love with surfing more.
How about you? Skimboarding or Surfing?
More PHOTO DUELS here.

Hopefully I’ll get to try them both next year!!! >__<
