I don’t know how to label this article. 25 Inspiring Things to do while traveling? 25 relaxing activities to kill time while on the road? 25 things you can do while traveling without shelling out cash? But I hope you get the message- these suggestions can make your next trip more awesome and epic.

“We must go beyond textbooks, go out into the bypaths and untrodden depths of the wilderness and travel and explore and tell the world the glories of our journey.” – John Hope Franklin

The thought of seeing myself ‘out there’ automatically pumps adrenaline into my bloodstream. Coz’ for me, TRAVEL IS NOT ONLY A LIFESTYLE, IT IS LIFE.

Here are some of the things I do while traveling.

Note: You don’t need money to do most if not all of these. You should try some on your next escapade:

1. Watch the sunrise.

Cool blue sunrise at Jolo Port, Sulu

2. Listen to the crashing waves.

3. Dance in the moonlight.

4. Sit on the beach.

5. Offer someone a flower.

6. Run.

7. Get wet.

8. Kiss a stranger.

9. Make an echo.

10. Hug a tree.

11. Smile three times.

12. High-five every kid you will meet.

Happy Tausug kids inside the Jolo, Sulu PNP Headquarters

13. Fly a kite.

14. Thank the chef/cook.

15. Eat with the locals.

16. Collect some stones.

17. Plant a tree.

18. Pick some trash.

19. Learn a local dialect

20. Send a postcard.

21. Make a new friend.

Meeting members of MNLF and PNP over lunch. Quite an experience!

22. Photograph the sunset.

23. Press a flower/leaf.

24. Appreciate a painting for 5 minutes.

25. Play with a dog/cat.

Add to the list, please. Thanks

“Experience, travel – these are as education in themselves.” – Euripides

“Voyage, travel, and change of place impart vigor.” – Seneca

close your eyes and think happy thoughts
whisper sweet nothings in the air
    whisper a prayer for someone
    enjoy a lazy day
    make paper boats/planes
do happy & contented deep sighs
smile. and keep that smile even longer.

    -Look up at the sky.
-Feel the sun on your skin.
-Sing a song while listening to waves.
