10 Questions about ISANGDAAN Journey from an Avid Reader

An avid reader, Mela who became a friend during my 100-day journey (coz she and her friends joined me during Day 27 at Quezon) asked me some questions about ISANGDAAN out of curiosity . These answers were kinda late but I’m publishing it anyway.

Hope you learn more about the journey thru this post:

Mela: What did you expect to happen before doing ISANGDAAN? Did it happen?

James: I want to finish the journey. And of course I want to make it on TV. hahaha (I figured out that its the best way to promote the blog and my passion- to make it on the mainstream media). Yes! It happened and I thank the people who made this possible- Sweeney, Liezel, Jean, Ernie and many more. I made it on GMA News To Go and ABS-CBN News Channel- Dateline Philippines.

Mela: I think that all travelers have their own yardstick when it comes to tourist destinations. After seeing a lot in those 80 provinces have your yardstick change?

James: Yes. I would not say that I’ve seen them all (there so much to explore and discover in the Philippines), but I guess I have a higher standard now. There is this default sense of comparison, so what I try to do is lower my expectations or focus on the experience more.

Enjoying the clean river somewhere in Puerto Princesa City

Mela: 20 years from now, where do you think JourneyingJames and what is he doing?

James: Wow! Showbiz question? hahaha Frankly, I don’t know. Maybe enjoying my self and my family beside the beach. Playing with my kids or surfing/diving!

Mela: If you will be given a chance to talk to yourself 10 years ago, what advice would you give him?

James: Maximize your potentials. Don’t work for someone else, follow your dreams, focus on your passion. Invest in the future- the youth.

Em, Mela, Me and Jen at Lucena City, Quezon (Day 27 of ISANGDAAN)

Mela: Was there a chance that you wished you were not a travel blogger, because one way or another it strangle you to do things that you do not want to do?

James: Yep, when people ask me for itineraries or the general “where’s the cheapest place to stay that is safe and clean?”

Mela: After seeing all that you have seen in ISANGDAAN, what is the next dream destination for JourneyingJames?

James: I still don’t know. But I want to try diving because I’m really in love with the beach and the sea.

Mela: Let’s have a drill, you will tell me the best places you’ve been in this adventure.

Best waterfalls- Tinago Falls in Biliran
Best beach- Panampangan Beach in Tawi-Tawi
Best trekking experience- Tingalayan, Kalinga
Mountain: Adams, Ilocos Norte
Locals: Marinduquenos are the most hospitable. The Muslims are warm and nice too!
Food: Adobong Pusit in Santander, Cebu- Php 5.00 per order.

About to have a quick dip at Tinago Falls in Biliran Province

Mela: After doing the things that you have done, and going to the places you have been I read comments that you are brave. Are you afraid of anything? If you are, what is your greatest fear?

James: I’m afraid of road accidents (and rats). hahaha

Mela: When you are not a blogger anymore, how would you like your reader to remember you?

James: A friend, a traveler.

Mela: Make a quotation about ISANGDAAN, whether it will be about your learning, or adventure or a realization.

James: “Follow your passion and make your dream come true. It will not happen if you don’t start it NOW.”

Thank you so much Ms. Mela for the questions and following the journey on Twitter and Facebook! 😉

How about you, do you have any question about ISANGDAAN (or anything even non-travel related basta ‘wag lang itinerary)? Just place it on the comment section and I will try to answer it.
