Do-It-Yourself Puerto Princesa City Tour! Yes, you read that right. I want to share with you the cheapest way to tour “The City in the Forest”- Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. I already consider myself a local here since I stayed in this beautiful city for almost a year.

One of the New 7 Wonders of Nature- this will be the highlight of your trip

This 3D/2N suggested itinerary includes the usual tourist attractions, food suggestions and cheap accommodations for the budget-tight visitor. It is also my addition to the Pinoy Travel Bloggers’ Blog Carnival being hosted by Possibly Pinay entitled  “3 Days/2 Nights.”

To make the planned itinerary easier to understand, I will be using Tripline.net. Just press the PLAY button and viola! a virtual Puerto Princesa City Tour.

SPECIAL NOTE: If you are looking for a budget-friendly packaged tour of Puerto Princesa City (Underground River, Honda Bay and City Tour), you can contact me at 0926-745-0858.

How to maximize the virtual map?

The buttons on the topmost right side of the map is kinda self-explanatory, please explore.

DETAIL. Found at the bottom of the map. All the itinerary details can be found here- this is what makes this virtual itinerary very very helpful.

SHARE. You can share the URL link or copy the html code if you want. Just make sure that you credit the author.

FULL SCREEN. If you need to view it bigger, duh!

If its helpful, would you consider sharing the post? You may want to register to tripline.net. Don’t worry its for free and I will be using it more often now to encourage more people to ready their backpacks and try solo travel adventures.

Have fun!

Hey james, just to tell u, u’re doing an excellent job.
Our trip to palawan is in NOvember and I was preparing to pay the 1500PHP for the undergroung river tour, 1300 for honda bay and 600PHP for the city tour. I could never imagine it would be possible to tour on one’s own. would u have any itinerary for el nido in 1day? cuz we’ll be in palawan for 4D/3N and we’re planning to visit el nido on the last day.
    thousands of thanks, james.

Hi sir! 2 of my friends and I will be traveling to PP by September next year. Although its a bit early, I am very eager to plan out the activities of our trip as soon as now, and your post is a huge help! 😀 Question though: How many hours would we spend for the Underground Tour and Honda Bay tour, respectively? 12nn na kasi ang dating namin sa PP so I’m a bit concerned kung kaya namin isiksik yung Underground Tour on our first day, then kinabukasan na lang yung Honda Bay Tour since mas maraming island ang bibisitahin on that. Advise please! 🙂 Thanks in advance! 🙂

hi eida, i am alexander. a local guy from puerto princesa.i would like to comment on your query.
Honda bay tour would take 7-8hrs including the travel to location + the HB Tour (vice versa).Location is only 45min from PPS. regarding PPUR it depends on the permit/s time of entry. travel time going to sabang is 1hr 15 minutes to be exact then you will pay for boat fee of 700/7pax one boat at sabang port then wait for your turn ride the boat then proceed to island near to PPUR normally boat takes 40minutes of travelling.then walk atleast 15minutes before reaching the mouth of the cave.

My advice. when you arrive at PPS at noontime it is better to wait for another day before proceeding to your tour otherwise you will not be able to come on time. Do the city tour first when you arrive. it will take you 4hrs of tour.

For more details.text me.I do arrange also itineraries/tour packages at a very low cost. or i do have van rental at affordable rates.
    thanks.more power.

HI james! your blog was a great help to us when we went to palawan last feb..Share ko lang din..We went to palawan last Feb 27-March 2, 2013. after reading so many blogs and write-ups about PPS, finally na finalize nmin ung mga pupuntahan. We had a 4D/3N stay in palawan itinerary as follows:

Day 1, arrived at 9:30Am:Honda Bay Tour (DIY); then sa gabi at 6pm we went to El Nido via fort wally van

Day 2, tour A in Elnido; then 6pm went back to PPS

    Day 3, underground river tour

Day 4, city tour (AM); flight back to MLA at 5:45pm

Though medyo hectic and itinerary na ginawa nmin, di namin kc mapalampas na hindi pumunta ng el nido since nandun na rin lang kami. Pagod din kc byahe ng byahe pero super nasulit nmn nmin ang pagpunta sa palawan. Again, thank you sa blog na to kc nakatulong talga sya smin..

Hi James. We’ll visit palawan next month. I need ur hep James. Sept 8 na kasi ang punta namin ngayon. Sana matulungan mo ako. thanks. (^_^)

Hi po, patulong naman po sana. Pwede po bang DIY City tour sa Puerto ng umaga? lagi kasing hapon ang nakikita ko.
Pagdating kasi ng Puerto want to maximize the morning for a City tour before we travel at 1pm to El Nido. If ever po, we will hire a van for the tour. Feasible po ba?
I saw lang that visiting hours at Baker’s Hill starts at 11am.

    Thanks!

    Hello po,

Question lang po sana.. I want to visit the undeground river on my own. What do i need to get the permission. I read in a blog once na I have to get police permit pa. Is there a way where I can just to there, pay the fee and get on the next ride?

    Thanks po.
