Hello dear reader!
First, I want to thank you for reading this blog. I appreciate that you continually support journeyingjames especially by retweeting my tweets and sharing my links.
Second, I want to keep you posted about my travel schedules in the following weeks. If you are within the area; maybe we could meet up, have some coffee (booze) or lunch together.
Third, I’ve been playing with the idea of traveling with a group and/or having a travel buddy to share the cost, exchange stories, etc. I think this would be cool!
So here’s my planned itinerary. This is flexible and very open to change, it depends on what I think would be cooler and crazier to do. So if you want to learn backpacking, you can join me. Just contact me beforehand.
September I’ll be roaming around Bicol Region for a week.
Come October, I would be in the Western and Central Visayas. I would like to visit provinces that I haven’t been to yet, like Antique and Siquijor. I will also run 2 half-marathons; dance in revelry at Masskara Festival; parteh in Boracay; beach-bum in Siquijor and soooo much more!
Why I’m divulging my travel plans?I want to meet lotsa locals and make friends to as many as possible while on the road. Or maybe you are planning your next adventure; you can join me.
Budget? I don’t want to spend too much on this trip. As much as possible I would like to practice more on spending less than Php500/day (all-in, transpo, food, accommodation, etc.). I would like to Couchsurf or maybe hang my hammock if I don’t find an accommodation of Php200 or less. Total budget would amount to not more than Php15,000 (less than US$360).
Objectives:
1. Learn the local language. I really want to learn Ilonggo and Cebuano while in the Visayas, so this would be a perfect time to do that.
2. Final practice: This is my final practice before I do my dream escapade.
Updates: Keep updated by connecting with me at Facebook (journeyingjamesFB) and Twitter (@journeyingjames). I assure you, its like you are traveling with me too.
So there you go, see you on the road!

Wow! What an itinerary! You’ll be in Iloilo – aside from Miag-ao church do visit Molo church too (it’s in my hometown). It’s known as the feminist church in the Philippines. In antique, do include Malalison Island found in Culasi.
Btw, Ilonggo is the native of Iloilo. The dialect is called Hiligaynon. 🙂
Have a safe trip!
-Gabz
molo church, a feminist church? hmmm… that’s new to me. and will definitely take a look at it again.
