i agree with everything except couch surfing. i haven’t tried it yet! but the reason is i want to surprise myself!
try it na jeriks! promise, you get to meet lots of funny, crazy and cool travelers. its twice the fun
bring a book! it can occupy you if you’re bored and you can even exchange it with another backpacker. when i was in saigon, i brought a robert parker and exchanged it with a book about gay teenagers. LOL. i had a choice of that or one of a number of books in vietnamese. (btw, let’s exchange links!)
i noticed that too, in HCMC a lot of cafes have bookshelves where you can trade books.
added your link already, thanks aleah!
Been a member of courch-surfing since you suggested it. Now I am hosting and learned from fellow travelers the dos and donts. thanks James.
love to hear this one! couchsurfing is the next thing in travel, glad you enjoy hosting! more visitors to come. share the warmth of our homes to fellow travelers. the good thing about CS is you say hi to a stranger, good-bye to a friend
I so agree with doing research.
yeah, a lot of people are bugging me, asking for itineraries, i want to say that they should research first then ask me after the research. its better that way right?
great tips! and i think i’m on my way to being a backpacker coz am already doing 7 out of the 8. couch surfing would be a level up for me. dunno if i would dare do that, esp being a girl and traveling alone most of the time…hmmm
wow! its safe po, pili lang ng okay na host.
Helpful tips…:-) But we have to be very careful in asking someone and not just trust in one person, try to ask atleast three locals…
that’s a good tip janice! yes, i definitely agree with you. thanks for sharing this info
